Original art offered for sale at HU Monday, November 27, 2017 7:29 AM Original works of art created by Huntington University students and faculty members will be available for purchase during the department of art and design’s annual Christmas sale Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The sale will take place each day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. It will include functional pottery, paintings, illustrations, photography and sticker designs. Son-Rise Bakery in Warren has moved to a new location, just about a block from where it was previously located. The bakery, which opened about a year ago, has moved to 114 N. Wayne St. into the building formerly occupied by The Flower Pot, which recently closed. Donations to Huntington County Promise can be doubled Wednesday, November 22, 2017 7:36 AM Qualifying donations made to Huntington County Promise on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28, can be doubled. Through the 1:1 Fund, Huntington County Promise will receive a dollar-for-dollar match on every donation up to $500 per individual donor. Donations will be used to help local youth open CollegeChoice 529 accounts with an initial $25 deposit and to encourage families to contribute to the accounts by providing matching funds for their own deposits. Brown reminds eligible farmers that they have until Dec. 4 to return their ballots in the 2017 County Committee elections. In Huntington County, the ballots should be returned to the Huntington Service Center, 2040 Ri-verfork Drive West, Huntington, IN 46750. Nearly 7,700 FSA County Committee members serve FSA offices nationwide. Each committee has three to 11 elected members who serve three-year terms of office.
