Artists, artisans to have their day at Renaissance in Roanoke on Saturday

Artists and artisans will line the streets of Roanoke on Saturday, Oct. 14, during the Renaissance in Roanoke.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The juried and fine art show, sponsored by the Roanoke Arts Council, also features artists engaged in the act of creation, buskers, entertainment, food and activities for the kids.

Biggest, most diverse ‘Renaissance’ set for downtown Roanoke Oct. 10

This will be the eighth year that A Renaissance in Roanoke has allowed area artists and artisans to showcase their talents and sell their works in downtown Roanoke, and Rick Fischer, event organizer and president of the Roanoke Arts Council, says this year will likely be the biggest — and most diverse — yet.

‘A Renaissance in Roanoke’ to feature fine art, fun Saturday

"A Renaissance in Roanoke," an annual event showcasing fine art, will return to downtown Roanoke on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Hours for the festival are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The day will include an outdoor juried art fair featuring local and regional artists, children's activities, demonstrations, entertainment, student exhibitions and food.

Artists will also participate in a Plein Air Paint-Out, setting up their easels throughout Roanoke to paint scenes from nature and the outdoors. Visitors are invited to watch the artists at work between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
