Roanoke to be rocking this weekend as 57th annual Fall Festival hits town

"Rockin' in Roanoke" is the theme of the 57th annual Roanoke Fall Festival that will take place Thursday through Sunday of this week, Sept. 9-12.

Thursday, Sept. 9
The fun kicks off Thursday with a doughnut-eating contest at 6 p.m. at Roanoke Park.

Afterwards, kids can enjoy a clown with balloon animals and kids crafts at Roanoke Brethren Church. Some carnival rides will be open to give festival-goers a taste of what's to come in the next few days.

Homespun Day set for Saturday, Sept. 4

Santa Claus made an early appearance last year, showing up during the 2009 Zanesville Homespun Day parade. This year’s celebration in Zanesville is set for Saturday, Sept. 4, with a parade at 10 a.m.

The 28th Annual Zanesville Homespun Day festival is scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 4, perfect timing for a Labor Day weekend activity.

The festival will open Saturday morning with the Quilt and Needlework Show from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Zanesville United Methodist Church Tower Life Center.

Zanesville United Methodist Church will host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church. Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
