Easter egg hunt is April 15 at Andrews fire station

The Andrews Community Helpers are holding their annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 15, at the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department.

The hunt is open to children through fourth grade and will take place rain or shine.

Donations are welcome to help defray the costs of putting on the event.

The Andrews Volunteer Fire Department is located at 796 N. Main St., Andrews.

First Free Will Baptist will hold egg hunt, basket drawing on Saturday

The First Free Will Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Ave., Huntington, will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 8, at noon.

The hunt will be divided into four age groups, for children up to 1 year old; ages 2 to 4; ages 5 to 8; and ages 9 to 12.

Easter baskets will be given away after the egg hunt, and registration for the baskets will begin at 11 a.m. Three of the baskets will include a gift card, with the grand prize being a $50 gas card.

The Easter bunny will be available for pictures with the children. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served.

New Hope UBC sets Easter week services

New Hope United Brethren Church has announced services for Easter weekend.

Stations of the Cross will be held on Good Friday, April 14, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A sunrise service will be held on Easter morning, April 16, at 7 a.m. at the Roush Lake dam. The community is invited to meet at the observation pavilion on the lake side of the dam to watch the sun rise over the lake. Breakfast will be served after the worship service.

An Easter egg hunt for children will be held at the church, located at 2001 Engle St., Huntington, at 8:30 a.m.

Easter Bunny to visit libraries in Markle, Huntington

The Easter Bunny will visit the Huntington and Markle branches of the Huntington City-Township Public Library this year for the annual Stories with the Easter Bunny and the Baby Bunny Bash.

The bunny will visit the Markle library on Friday, April 7, at 4:45 p.m. and the Huntington library  on Saturday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. for Stories with the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny will read stories to children ages preschool and up, and will be available for pictures after story time.

Healing Waters to sponsor Easter egg hunt

Healing Waters Ministry will sponsor an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 1, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Children ages 2 to 12 will be divided into three age groups, 2 through 4, 5 through 7 and 8 through 12. There will be activities for each age group, including a coloring contest. Prizes, including a $25 Toys R Us gift card, will be awarded.

Healing Waters Ministry is located in Mt. Etna at 5811W-606S, Huntington.

Area churches announce special services for Christmas Eve, Day

Several area churches have announced special services for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

They include:

The Mt. Etna United Methodist Church will hold a family-friendly Christmas Eve service on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m.

The program will include songs and skits for all ages as well as an appearance by Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. Cookies and hot cocoa will be served.

Gift wrapping

The crowd favorite winners of the best-decorated trees and wreaths are:

Business Trees – first place, Tam-A-Sak, won by Andrea Reed; second place, Town & Country Flowers/Gifts (Bailey-Love), won by Brody Newcomb; and third place, Twisted Sizzors, won by Terron Reust.
