A disastrous first-half shooting performance by the Huntington University women's basketball team helped seal its fate for the season as it lost to Sterling College, 61-52, in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament on Thursday, March 11, at Sioux City, IA.
The Foresters, 21-10, hit just 7 of 31 shots from the field in the opening half and dug themselves a 25-18 hole by halftime. That was enough for Sterling, 27-4, which used 16 of 19 marksmanship for 84.2 percent at the free-throw line in the second half to hold off any comeback attempt by HU.
