Markle Chamber hears updates on festival, cleanup and more

At the April 9 meeting of the Markle Area Chamber of Commerce, it was announced that Sheri Richardson is the contact person for the Markle Wildcat Festival.

She can be reached at Markle Health and Rehabilitation at 758-2131.

The festival will be held the weekend of Aug. 4.

The annual town-wide cleanup will run through May 15 and the council is still working on a grant for the water tower at the I-69 Industrial Park.

In marketing news, Holly Clabaugh is in the final states of taking picture for the brochures.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt was held at the Markle Ball Park. The event was organized by Tina Bowman, of Looking Glass Salon. The hunt was started by the Markle Fire Department's siren and hundreds of children participated in the event.

More than 3,000 eggs were filled by area businesses and the Easter Bunny posed for pictures with the children.
Markle Health and Rehabilitation will host a fish fry and craft bazaar to benefit Karing for Kids and the Alzheimer's Association. The date will be announced later.

In future business, attorney Matt Doss will be opening an office on Morse Street.

The next meeting is May 14 at 7 a.m. at Markle United Methodist Church.
