Krieg gets McCurley Scholarship

Brittany Krieg has been awarded a $1,000 Gary W. McCurley Scholarship by the Huntington County Community Foundation.

Krieg, a 2008 graduate of Huntington North High School, will be a sophomor at Huntington University majoring in educational ministries and child development.

She is the daughter of Michael Kreig and Donna Herring and granddaughter of Florsie Krieg of Huntington.

While in high school, Krieg participated in the fall and spring One-Act Play Festivals, marching band, colorguard, concert band, and National Honor Society.

Applicants for the Gary W. McCurley Scholarship must be residents of Huntington County with a minimum grade point average of 10.0 on an 11.0 scale (or equivalent) or be in the top 10 percent of their class, been accepted to a four-year college, and be able to demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to candidates with an interest in business or law studies, those planning to attend Indiana University or any of its campuses, members and active participants in a Christian church, and those who have participated in community service volunteer work.
