Local SWCD office to host Wetland Workshop

The Huntington County Soil and Water Conservation District will be host a Wetland Workshop on June 16 at 6 p.m.

The workshop is titled "Wetlands - A Key Link in Watershed Management" and covers all aspects of wetlands. The district, through Clean Water Indiana grants, will offer cost assistance for installing or restoring a wetland. Funds are limited.

Featured guest speakers include Ken Brunswick, regional ecologist IDNR Division of Nature Preserves, whose topic will be "Benefits of Wetlands." Ben Hess with Heartland Restoration Services will talk about "Installation of Wetlands."

Dennis White, with Little River Wetland Project, will talk about "Wetland and Wildlife." Tim Bomba, NRCS District conservationist, will talk about "Conservation Programs for Wetlands."

Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair for seating.

The workshop will be held at 8393N-900W, a quarter mile north of Bippus on Ind.-105, on the east side of the road.
