The Dan Quayle Commemorative Foundation has awarded its eighth annual scholarship to Grace College student Alison Spahr, of Huntington.

Spahr, a 2008 graduate of Huntington North High School and current Spanish education major at Grace College, was awarded the foundation's $1,000 scholarship.

The scholarship was developed by the board of directors for The Dan Quayle Commemorative Foundation Inc., which is the governing body for The Dan Quayle Center, home of the United States Vice Presidential Museum.

Scholarship applications were judged on completed application form, high school and college transcript or grad school completed to date, handwritten autobiography, typed essay on the "Value of Public Service" and two letters of reference.
