Marching Vikes end season at regional

The season for the Huntington North High School Marching Vikes ended Saturday, Oct. 15, in Chesterton.

The local band's performance in the Indiana State School Music Association's regional marching band contest fell short of the mark needed to advance to the semi-state competition.

The HNHS band was one of 30 high school marching bands in the Class A division - the category for the state's largest high schools - from across Indiana to compete in regionals at two sites on Oct. 15. The field was narrowed to 20 bands from Class A and 20 bands from each of the other three divisions.

Those 80 bands will move on to the ISSMA marching band semi-finals on Oct. 22.
