Hippensteel benefit set for Saturday, Oct. 22

A benefit for Huntington resident Ed Hippensteel will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at American Legion Post 7, 1330 Etna Ave.

The day will begin with a motorcycle ride. Registration will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and the ride will take off at 11:45 a.m.

A bake sale and auction will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m.

Evening events include a potato dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m., with advance tickets sold at a discount. Tickets will also be available at the door. Miller and Ashcraft will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. and the Dan Smith Band is featured from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Hippensteel serves as post chaplain and is employed at Midwest Steel Fabricators. He has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

All proceeds from the event will be given to Hippensteel.
Items to be donated for the auction may be dropped off at the post on Thursday, Oct. 20, between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. For information about making a donation, call 356-8226.
