Warren Scarecrow Festival is Friday, Oct. 28

The streets of Warren will be lined with scarecrows as costumed characters parade through the downtown during the Warren Scarecrow Festival on Friday, Oct. 28.

The festival is sponsored by the Warren Chamber of Commerce.

Area residents, businesses and organizations were invited to create scarecrows, which will be judged on Thursday, Oct. 27. The scarecrows will remain on display in front of their creators' homes or businesses and along Wayne Street in downtown Warren during Friday evening's festivities.

A costume parade will step off from Third and Wayne streets on Friday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. Adults and children are invited to participate and are asked to dress in family-friendly costumes.

Festivities continue until 8 p.m., and games and treats will be sponsored by local organizations. Chili, hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase.

A chili contest will also be held during the evening.
Winners of the chili contest and the scarecrow contest will be announced at 7:30 p.m.

In the event of heavy rain, events will be held at the Knight-Bergman Center in Warren.
