The Andrews-Dallas Township Public Library will be hosting an eReader "petting zoo" and a how-to session on downloadable books and audio books, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Just in time for holiday shopping, participants will be able to compare features on a variety of devices including Apple iPad2, Apple iPod Touch, 4th generation; Barnes & Noble Nook, Cruz Reader, Pandigital Novel, Sony Reader Touch Edition, NextBook Next2, Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle Fire.
The devices will be presented by Celia Bandelier, director of Roanoke Public Library.
At 6 p.m., Matthew Etzel, from the Huntington City-Township Public Library reference department, will demonstrate how to download e-books and e-audio books from OverDrive.
Visitors to the program are welcome to bring along their own devices and/or laptops to ask specific questions about using the OverDrive service.
E-books and e-audio books are now available for patrons of the Andrews-Dallas Township Public Library through membership in the e-Indiana Digital Consortium, powered by OverDrive. Patrons will only need their library card to use this service.
