Ed Vessels, owner of HiValu LLC, a leadership and consulting firm in Roanoke, has been elected president of the Huntington University Foundation Board of Directors.

Vessels will serve a three-year term. As president he will also serve on the university's board of trustees.
Vessels succeeds Brooks Fetters, recently elected mayor of Huntington.

"As president of the foundation, I intend to work with the board to increase community involvement with the university and to grow the number of scholarship opportunities available to Huntington community students," Vessels said.

Vessels is a certified public accountant, and has been involved locally with the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, United Way, YMCA and Huntington County Leadership. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in business administration from the Ohio State University.

He is married and has two children.
