Roanoke library now offering eBooks, downloadable audio books

The Roanoke Public Library is now offering eBooks and downloadable audio books, library Director Celia Bandelier says.

Anyone with a green Roanoke Public Library card can access the books with a password and PIN. Each user can check out up to three titles at a time for a period of seven or 14 days. Any eBook not immediately available can be placed on hold.

Roanoke residents can receive a free library card by showing a driver's license or a utility bill with the resident's current address. Those younger than 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a driver's license or utility bill listing the current address.

Anyone who is not a Roanoke resident may purchase a card for a yearly fee.

The Roanoke Public Library is part of the eIndiana Digital Consortium, which includes more than 30 libraries in Indiana that purchase and share eBooks and downloadable audio books.
