Huntington Board of Appeals has several requests on agenda

Five requests for variances from and special exceptions to zoning guidelines will be placed before members of the Huntington Board of Appeals in August.

The board will meet on Monday, Aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the third floor of the City Building.

Items on the agenda are:
• A request by Kroger to place two additional non-illuminated building signs on its fueling center kiosk at 2718 Guilford St.

• Two requests from Huntington University. The university wants to use residentially-zoned property at 846 North St. for office space and custodial storage.
The university wants to use a second residentially-zoned property, at 479 Campus St., for academic and counseling programs.

• Joyce Braumburger is seeking to operate a beauty salon as a home business at 1335 Edna St., a property now zoned residential.

• Dwayne Skaggs is seeking a variance to place more than the allowed number of signs at a property at 205 E. Franklin St., which is zoned for business.
