ArtsExpress hits 20th anniversary

The artistic talents of Huntington County students will be on display at the 20th anniversary edition of ArtsExpress.

Visual and performing arts, as well as a chance for guests to create some of their own art, are featured during the festival of fine arts, to be held Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crestview Middle School.

This year's theme is "Arts for Life."

The exhibits of visual art pieces will be on display throughout the day, while groups from the elementary through the high school level will perform from the festival opening until early afternoon.
The Lincoln Voices of Pride will start the day off
with a 9 a.m. performance, followed by the Children's Choir of Huntington County at 9:30 a.m.

Also on stage are the Flint Spring Falconears at 10 a.m., Huntington North High School drama students at 10:30 a.m., Disney Kids from Northwest and Roanoke elementary schools at 11 a.m.; a Huntington North flute choir at 11:30 a.m.; the Crestview Middle School eighth grade choir at 12:30 p.m.; and the Huntington North Winter Percussion at 1 p.m.

Three different make-it, take-it classes will be offered in five sessions on Saturday. Chihuly bowls will be presented from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.; Huntington University students will offer puppet sessions from noon to 2 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m.; and a session non origami bowls is set for 10 a.m. to noon.

Bread bowls and cups of soup will be sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Soup choices will include chili, potato and chicken noodle.
