Students who take a June 16 entomology workshop at Salamonie Lake will learn about collecting, identifying and pinning insects.
The workshop is open to adults and children ages 10 and older.
Participation would be a great supplement for kids working on an insect collection for 4-H or scouting, say organizers. Students younger than 12 years old should be accompanied by an adult.
The workshop runs 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salamonie Interpretive Center and there is a cost per family. Light refreshments will be served.
Marvin Wright will lead the workshop. Wright has helped many 4-H kids with insect identification and display.
Advance registration is requested by calling Upper Wabash Interpretive Services at 468-2127.
The standard entrance fee will be waived for students registered in advance.
The interpretive center is near Andrews in Salamonie Lake's Lost Bridge West State Recreation Area, off of Ind.-105 in western Huntington County.
