Nicolas Kaylor, Zackary Kaylor and Joshua Platt, all of Huntington have earned the Eagle Scout Award, the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts.

All three are members of Troop 129, sponsored by the Salamonie Church of the Brethren and led by Scoutmaster Scott Kaylor.

To earn the award, each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community, church or synagogue-related service project.

For his Eagle service project, Nick Kaylor chose to beautify the forester building area at the Salamonie State Forest by installing landscaping rocks around the building and flag pole.

Zack Kaylor, along with his fellow Scouts, chose to repair the grounds building at the Salamonie Church of the Brethren.

The old paint was powerwashed off the trim and doors of the building then were repainted.

Platt and the troop built more than 40 birdhouses and placed them at Markle Health and Rehabilitation, Norwood Health and Rehabilitation, Oakbrook Village, The Heritage of Huntington and Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Nicolas and Zackary Kaylor are the sons of Scott and Lori Kaylor, of Huntington.

Joshua Platt is the son of Donald and Victoria Platt, of Huntington.
