Roanoke's Cottage Event Center will host a Jimmy Buffet tribute show on Friday, Aug. 10, with the island sounds of Captain Jac.
The concert, sponsored by the Roanoke Lions Club, will feature an assortment of hit songs made famous by the popular musician including "Cheeseburger in Paradise," "Volcano," "Fins" and "Margaritaville." In addition, Indianapolis based Captain Jac will perform some original songs from his recent Pilothouse music CD "Livin On The Hard."
The concert will begin at 7:30 and attendees are invited when the doors open at 6 p.m. for grilled burgers and hot dogs, prepared by the Lions Club.
The hot dogs and burgers may be purchased at the event as well as drinks at a cash bar, including soft drinks.
Tickets are on sale by any Roanoke Lions Club member or at The Cottage Kitchen & Café on Locust Street in Roanoke, Bippus State Bank downtown Roanoke, Mike Gibson's State Farm Insurance on U.S.-24 in Roanoke or by calling 483-3508.
Accompanying Captain Jac for the show will be veteran musician Tom Berich on the steel pan drums. Berich is a former television producer and professional musician.
The Cottage Event Center will also host a comedy murder mystery dinner theatre performance on Friday, Sept. 14. The performance by Bower North Productions, "To Catch a Clue," features Larry Bower as ‘Defective Detective' John Fieldstone. The performance will include audience participation.
Further details about the dinner show will be announced at a later date.
