Crazy Cromags Airsoft Emporium opened last Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 422-1/2 Poplar Street in Huntington.
Owned by Tim McGuin, of Huntington, the store caters to enthusiasts of the sport of Airsoft, a recreational activity in which participants eliminate one another by firing spherical, non-metallic pellets from replica guns.
McGuin developed a love for the sport after being introduced to it by his son. This love inspired McGuin to convert the family's old dirt bike trailer into a mobile store, which he and his son took throughout Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and as far as North Carolina on selling trips several years ago. An online store followed and McGuin decided to open up a retail store after noting a lack of stores that were Airsoft-exclusive in Indiana.
"We carry everything in Airsoft," McGuin says, "from the protective gear to eye protection to body protection to the guns themselves ... we carry everything Airsoft and exclusively Airsoft. So, if you come to our store, and you've never played before, we can outfit you with everything you need so that you can start playing that day."
The store is open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
