The Communities for a Lifetime Steering Committee will hold an open meeting for area residents on Thursday, Aug. 16.
The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Gathering Place, 530 Guilford St., in Huntington.
"The purpose of the meeting is to gather ideas about Huntington's assets and how they can be used and improved to make the city a Community for a Lifetime," says Jan Baumgartner, director of Pathfinder Community Connections. "Discussion will also focus on gaps in services that need to be filled to enable Senior citizens to live in their homes as long as they choose, and how multi-generational programs and supports can be a benefit to all."
Information from the meeting will be used in the implementation of a grant application to bring funds to Huntington enabling programs and services to be put into place to meet the needs of citizens of all ages.
The discussion is open to all those who live or work in Huntington.
