The Huntington Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 6:30 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers on the third floor of the City Building to consider the adoption of a Comprehensive Plan.
The plan is intended to be used when making land use and policy decisions to promote the established unified vision of the city of Huntington.
This public hearing is the culmination of 18 months of work by a steering committee formed by the Plan Commission early last year.
The public hearing will provide an opportunity for members of the public to comment on the plan prior to its official adoption.
Draft copies of the plan are available for public inspection from now until the hearing in the Department of Community Development office located in room 204 of the Huntington County Courthouse; in the clerk-treasurer's office of the City Building, 300 Cherry St.; and online at www.huntington.in.us by selecting "County", then "Department of Community Development," then "City of Huntington - 2012 Comprehensive Plan."
