Genealogy Society to hear talk on ‘Pioneers and First Families’

The Huntington Genealogy Society will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Huntington City-Township Public Library.

The meeting will be held in the Indiana Room.

Charlotte Hurd Blair is this month's speaker, discussing "Pioneers and First Families."

Blair was born and raised in Whitley County and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

She worked as teacher and principal in Wisconsin after graduation, then moved to Whitley County.

She now serves as the president of the Genealogical Society of Whitley County and a Whitley County genealogist.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Membership is not required to attend.
