Dr. G. Blair Dowden, president of Huntington University, has been named to the board of directors for the American Council on Education.

He will serve a three-year term.

The National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, where Dowden has served as a board member for three years, appointed him to the position. Dowden serves as a member of the executive committee and chair of the committee on student aid for NAICU.

"I am honored to represent Huntington University and NAICU on this board. These are critical days for higher education, and I look forward to contributing to the national dialogue regarding its future," Dowden said.
