YSB will offer training session in suicide prevention program

The Teen Suicide Prevention Task Force will host a community meeting to educate parents on suicide awareness.
The two-hour suicide awareness program, QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer), will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The training will be held at the Youth Services Bureau's office at 1344 Maple Drive. Participants will learn Huntington County is not immune to youth suicide. The myths vs. facts as well as the warning signs and risk factors will be addressed. Participants will also learn local resources and more as it relates to suicide prevention.
Reservations are necessary and space is limited. Make a reservation by calling the Youth Services Bureau at 356-9681. Online registrations may be made by emailing adm@ys bofhuntingtonco.org.
The Teen Suicide Prevention Task Force is made up of representatives from local law enforcement agencies, HCCSC, Bowen Center, LACE, social service partners and the Youth Services Bureau.
Financial support is provided by the Huntington County Community Foundation and Parkview Huntington Hospital.
