KBF Pres. Fund to help former Warren school
Thursday, September 20, 2012 8:08 AM
Two graduating classes from Warren High School have made donations to a fund designed to preserve the former school building, and other classes are being challenged to make additional donations.
Mary Emma Holmes spearheaded the collection of more than $1,800 from the class of 1952. That donation prompted Col. Bill Rupright to encourage his Class of 1962 to make a donation, and that class raised more than $1,700 for the fund.
The donations will go to the KBC Preservation Fund, established in 2009 to maintain the Knight Bergman Center, the former school building's current occupant. Interest from the fund is designated to be used for small projects or matching funds, not for operation of the center. There is currently more than $100,000 in the preservation fund.
Rupright is challenging other classes to try to top the donations made by the classes of 1952 and 1962.
Contributions may be mailed to W.A.R.R.E.N. Inc., KBC Preservation Fund, PO Box 532, Warren, IN 46792.
