Thursday, September 20, 2012 8:10 AM
President Jean Watson opened the regular monthly meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 85 on Sept. 11.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by those present, followed by a moment of silence remembering the attack 11 years ago and a prayer.
Upcoming events being planned include a rummage and bake sale to be held on Friday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All members of the post are encouraged to bring in any items in good condition.
Auxiliary members are asked to come to the post on Thursday, Sept. 20, to assist in placing and pricing items.
Another event in early planning stages is the children's Christmas party. It will be held on Dec. 8 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The auxiliary will hold its next meeting on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.
