Monday, September 24, 2012 7:38 AM
The Roanoke Kiwanis Club will sponsor a fund-raising concert by the band Paul Stout Country on Friday, Oct. 19, in celebration of Country Music Month.
The concert will be held at the Cottage Event Center, in Roanoke, with the Kiwanis Club offering barbecued pulled pork sandwiches and other food items before the show. A cash bar will also be available. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show at 7:30 p.m.
The band will play music from country artists including Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr. and Alabama.
The band's most recent CD, "It Is What it Is," was released last year by GoForward Records.
Discounted tickets can be purchased in advance from any Roanoke Kiwanis member; at the Cottage Kitchen and Café, on Locust Street in Roanoke; Mike Gibson State Farm Insurance, on U.S. 24 in Roanoke; and the First Federal Savings Bank downtown and north branches in Huntington; or by calling 483-3508. Full price tickets will be available the day of the show.
