Heritage Hall again open to cool-weather walkers
Monday, October 1, 2012 8:12 AM
The Huntington Parks and Recreation Department's free seasonal walking program will begin on Monday, Oct. 1.
Heritage Hall at Hier's Park will be open to walkers every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.; and every Tuesday and Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Walkers may elect to participate in the "Walk Across Indiana" program, which challenges them to walk at least 140 miles - the distance across Indiana - by the end of April.
The "Walk the Indy 500" is an even bigger challenge, asking participants to walk 500 miles by the end of April.
Prizes are awarded to participants who reach their goals.
No registration is necessary. Participants can come to Heritage Hall at their convenience during walking hours.
For more information, contact the parks department at 358-2323.
