Two evangelical Christian authors who hold widely different political views will discuss politics and the upcoming election on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at Huntington University.

Lisa Sharon Harper and Dr. David Innes will discuss their recent book, "Left, Right, and Christ: Evangelical Faith in Politics." They will take questions from the audience.

In the book, Harper and Innes discuss their polarizing views on various political issues from abortion to same-sex marriage. Harper, director of mobilizing at the Christian justice organization Sojourners, represents the left, and Innes, associate professor of politics at The King's College, represents the right.

Mark Mellinger, of WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, will facilitate the discussion.

The discussion is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts at HU.
