HU Foundation recognizes Pathfinder Services

Pathfinder Services received the 2012 Distinguished Service Award from the Huntington University Foundation. Photo provided.

Pathfinder Services is the recipient of the Huntington University Foundation's 2012 Distinguished Service Award.

The Huntington University Foundation established this award in 2002 to recognize individuals or organizations that embody the principles associated with the mission of the university, make significant contributions to the Huntington County community and serve as effective role models for students.

Pathfinder Services, founded in 1966, has a goal of creating a community in which all people are valued and accepted.

Through divisions such as Pathfinder Kids Kampus, Pathfinder Community Supports, Pathfinder Community Connections, Pathfinder Resource Connection, Pathfinder OutSource Manufacturing and Amramp, Pathfinder Services helps those with developmental or economic challenges achieve independence and inclusion in society.

Based in Huntington, Pathfinder serves northeast Indiana with offices in Huntington, Allen, Marshall, Wabash and Whitley counties.

Pathfinder Services offers opportunities for HU students through employment and internships. HU faculty are welcomed as board and committee members and as volunteers.

The award was presented to Pathfinder Services President John Niederman at the annual Foundation dinner on Thursday, Sept. 27.
