Paul Hart (left) and Brian Secor (second from left), members of the Roanoke Friends of the Library, present a $15,000 donation to Lee Weiss (third from left), vice president of the Roanoke Public Library Board, and Jerry Anderson (right), a library trustee. The contribution will be used to purchase items to be used in the library's new location and includes significant gifts from Charles and Alice Hinton and Mary Schenkel. Charles Hinton was a long-time principal at Roanoke High School and Schenkel is a long-time resident and business owner. The library, which currently occupies a small area of the Roanoke Town Hall, is moving to larger quarters in the former coil factory building in downtown Roanoke.
