Operation Christmas Child collecting shoeboxes Nov. 12-19

Community members again have the opportunity to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse Charitable Organization.

Shoeboxes can be filled with small toys and other gifts to be distributed to the children personally by Graham and his helpers.

Those donating should use a shoe box or a small, plastic container. Wrap the container in wrapping paper, with the lid separate, and fill with school supplies, toys, hygiene items, flashlights and batteries, small sewing kits and clothing items. A note with the donor's address and a picture may be included to receive a reply from the child that receives your box.

The boxes can be dropped off at College Park Church at 1945 College Ave. the week of Nov. 12 through 19. They will then be taken to Fort Wayne and loaded into a semi-truck and shipped to North Carolina where they will be taken by Graham to children in Africa, South America, Asia and Europe.

For more information, call the church at 356-2642 or Phylis Stouder at 344-1486 or visit www.samari tanpurse.org/ezgive.
