Master Gardeners to present program Nov. 7

The Huntington County Master Gardeners will present the program "Grow It - Gift It: Gifts For and From the Garden" on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in Heritage Hall, Hier's Park.

The evening will include six stations, each with a different presentation.

Liz Saunders will present samples of food made from the garden. Sharon Ernst, Sharon Laupp and Gary Hiatt will demonstrate how to paint gourds. Christi Heffelfinger will show how to offer items for the birds for Christmas.

Rose Meldrum will present a program on "Painting Your Garden," demonstrating how to paint items for the garden and paint pictures of the garden. Janice Alvery will illustrate how to force blooms. Suzy Jennings will present salves, oils and soaps made from the garden.

This is the final installment of the Master Gardeners' 2012 public education series.

A new Master Gardeners class will begin on Jan. 14, with classes on Monday and Thursday evenings. For information or to register for the classes, call the Purdue Extension office.
