The Children's Choir of Huntington County will be the opening act for the Nov. 18 afternoon performance of the Huntington North High School Varsity Singers' Pomp & Plenty concert.

The two vocal groups have a strong connection, with 13 former Children's Choir members currently performing as part of the Varsity Singers. They include Courtney Gates, Kaylie Killian, Samantha Roller, Madi Waldfogel, Alexis Garcia, Elizabeth Leach, Rebecca Shenefield, Jake White, Claire Harvey, Cameron Ness, Kelsey Hoke, Sam Ray and Jodyice Spoonamore.

The Children's Choir, which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, will be the opening act for the 2 p.m. concert on Nov. 18. The Children's Choir has also scheduled a performance with the Manchester University choir and orchestra on Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. at Manchester University and will hold its 20th anniversary celebration banquet and concert on April 20, with a time and location to be announced.

The performance featuring the Children's Choir is one of two Varsity Singers concerts on Nov. 18. A second show will be presented at 7 p.m. that day.

In addition, the Varsity Singers will perform Saturday evening, Nov. 17, following a gourmet dinner beginning at 5 p.m.

All Pomp & Plenty performances are in the Huntington North High School auditorium.

Tickets to any of the performances can be purchased at Bippus State Bank, First Federal Savings Bank, PNC and Teachers Credit Union and from any member of the Varsity Singers.
