Monday, November 12, 2012 7:32 AM
The United Methodist Memorial Home broke ground Nov. 11 for The Heritage of Fort Wayne, which is expected to open in 2013.
The 90,000-square-foot facility will be located at 8200 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. It will house approximately 66 beds, including residential and assisted living apartments, private health care suites, memory care assisted living and private rehabilitation suites. The complex is expected to employ 100 people.
The Heritage of Fort Wayne living center is the second phase of the two-phase UMMH project in Fort Wayne. It is located adjacent to The Villas at Heritage Lakes, an independent free-standing villa community initiated in 2009.
In addition to The Heritage of Fort Wayne and The Villas at Heritage Lakes, the United Methodist Memorial Home owns and operates Heritage Pointe in Warren and The Heritage of Huntington.
