Street paving in Huntington to go through Nov. 16

Street paving and patching projects in the city of Huntington have begun and will continue through Nov. 16, weather permitting.

Anthony Goodnight, director of public works and engineering services for the city, says the projects began on Nov. 9 when crews milled the old surface of Maple Street adjacent to the Etna Avenue fire station; Cline Street from William Street to Etna Avenue; and Warren Street from State Street to the railroad tracks.

Paving on Warren and Cline streets is set to begin on Thursday, Nov. 15, with paving on Maple Street set for Friday, Nov. 16.

Milling is set to take place on Monday, Nov. 12, on Stadium Drive, between Guilford and Jefferson streets; College Avenue, between Tipton and Division streets; and Washington Street, between Byron and Third streets, with the exception of the First Street intersection.

Paving is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13, on Stadium and College; and on Wednesday, Nov. 14, on Washington.

Milling work will move to Ind.-5 inside the city on Tuesday, Nov. 13, and patching and repair work will take place the same day on those streets.

Additional milling work will be done on Tuesday, Nov. 13, on State Street, between Jefferson and Briant streets; and Byron Street, between State Street and the railroad tracks and between the tracks and Court Street.

Paving will take place on State Street on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and on Byron Street on Thursday, Nov. 15.

Inclement weather could force a change in the paving schedule, Goodnight notes.
