Chamber offers seminar on new health care act

Businesses and individuals interested in learning more about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) are invited to attend the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce seminar on Friday, Dec. 14, at 11:30 a.m.
The event will address topics concerning the Affordable Care Act. It will take place at the Habecker Dining Commons at Huntington University.
Following lunch at 11:30 a.m. the presentation will begin at noon. There will also be a time for the audience to ask questions.
The speaker for the day will be Mike Ripley, a health care expert from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Topics to be included in the seminar will include what employers need to know for 2013 regarding the PPACA, impacts of PPACA for 2014 and beyond, update on the state of Indiana implementation of health care reform and how it may impact employers, compliance issues facing small businesses, efficiencies, the uncertainty, what the state's plans are, exchanges and how they work and the Medicaid expansion.
