Huntington Mayor Brooks Fetters will be part of a panel of mayors and city managers addressing the 2012 Community Connections Conference on Dec. 5 in Indianapolis.

The conference is sponsored by the Governor's Council for People with Disabilities. It is designed to encourage the creation of sustainable communities that are welcoming to people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and abilities.

Fetters was asked to participate on the panel by Suellen Jackson-Boner, the council's executive director, on the basis of his comments in a Retirement Living magazine article on building communities for a lifetime.

Other panel members include the mayors of North Vernon and Linton and representatives from Valparaiso and Bloomington.
