Unilever employees donate toys, more to Love INC
Thursday, December 6, 2012 7:52 AM
Employees of Unilever's Good Humor-Breyers plant in Huntington have donated hundreds of toys and personal care items to Love INC, which will distribute the items to area residents in need.
Approximately 120 Unilever employees participated in the giving effort organized by fellow Unilever employee Cheryl Coles.
Dana Meyer, toy distribution coordinator for Love INC, supplied Unilever with a list of toys that are most often requested by children but not often donated. The biggest request last year, Meyer says, was for anything related to the Indianapolis Colts.
As part of this year's project, the Unilever employees contacted the Colts organization, which donated a variety of Colts items to be given to Love INC.
Individual Unilever employees purchased toys off the Love INC list and made monetary donations to purchase personal care items.
Approximately 910 personal care items and 150 toys were delivered to Love INC on Friday, Nov. 30, by Unilever employees Sharon Aluma, Mark Gehrke and Dave Getman.
