Wheat acres certification for FSA is Dec. 15

Producers have until Dec. 15 to certify the acreage they have planted in wheat, the Huntington County Farm Service Agency (FSA) says.

This certification deadline is a change from previous years.

The FSA will accept crop certifications from farm operators, farm owners, persons authorized by power of attorney, tenants and sharecroppers. The office will also certify Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) land at this time.

In order to receive payments from the USDA, compliance with Highly Erodible land and Wetland Conservation provisions are required. Producers should contact the Farm Service Agency prior to conducting land clearing, tree removal or drainage projects to ensure compliance.

To make an appointment, contact the Huntington County FSA office at 356-6816, extension 2.
