Huntington County HELP Inc. for Disabled Citizens is offering a minimum of five scholarships to students who are majoring in fields of study that promote service to people with disabilities.

Among the fields considered are speech and hearing, special education, physical and occupational therapy, nursing, medicine, counseling and social work, as well as other areas of study in the medical and mental health areas.

Students must be residents of Huntington County and have completed their freshman year in college to be eligible.
Current freshmen may apply, but will need to provide proof of completion of required credits to attain sophomore status prior to receipt of the scholarship.

Graduate students in the specified areas of study are also eligible. Students must be able to demonstrate a desire to work with people with disabilities.

Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of up to $1,500.

All applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2013.
