Cash-Cline tribute concert set in Roanoke
Monday, January 7, 2013 7:35 AM
Singing duo Shade 'N' Shannon will present an anniversary tribute to Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline Jan. 18 at the Cottage Event Center in Roanoke.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Johnny Cash and the 50th anniversary of the death of Patsy Cline.
Cline was killed in a 1963 plane crash shortly after completing a national tour with Cash.
The country music legends charted dozens of songs and together recorded almost 2000 songs.
Cash's life story was featured in the 2005 movie "Walk The Line" starring Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix.
A portion of the proceeds of the concert, featuring Shade Jonze (Henry Phillips) and Shannon Persinger, will benefit the Roanoke Public Library Building Corporation in its campaign to raise $250,000 for the library's move to the former Coil Factory building in Roanoke.
The Cottage Event Center is located at 9524 U.S.-24N, Roanoke.
For tickets, call 483-3508.
