Huntington University ‘Pink Out’ will honor survivors
Monday, January 28, 2013 7:57 AM
The Huntington University women's basketball team will host its annual "Pink Out" at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the University's Merillat Complex.
The event, sponsored by Beacon Credit Union and Walmart, will include recognition of breast cancer survivors during halftime of the HU vs. Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's basketball game.
Breast cancer survivors will be admitted without charge. At the start of halftime, survivors will be escorted onto the floor for special recognition and presented with a gift provided by the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
HU's "Pink Out" is an event to raise awareness and resources to advance breast cancer education and research. Proceeds from gate receipts, donations and "pink" popcorn sales will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. In lieu of ticket sales, game-day admission will be exclusively on a donation basis.
To assist with planning, breast cancer survivors are asked to register in advance by visiting www.huntington.edu/Athletics/2013-Pink-Out/.
