HU Foundation will hear a report on the state of the local farming industry

Representatives of the local agriculture industry will discuss the state of farming during the Feb. 13 Huntington University Foundation Breakfast.

The panel includes HU graduate and career farmer Steve Platt; Jodi Heath, co-manager of Helena Chemical's Huntington plant; and Bill Nash, commodity risk manager for Salamonie Mills. John Easterday, a retired banker and farmer, will serve as moderator.

The speakers will address the current challenges of the agriculture industry as well as some proactive steps farmers and land owners can take to help plan for the future.

The breakfast is open to the public. It will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons and conclude by 9 a.m. First-time attendees eat free courtesy of Bailey-Love Mortuary. Reservations are appreciated and should be made by contacting Barb Baker at 359-4069 or bbaker@huntington.edu.
