The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Huntington officially gets underway at 6 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 11, at the Cafe of Hope, Life Church.

Huntington community members are invited to unite to help "kick off" this yearʼs event, which will take place on June 8 and end on June 9. This yearʼs theme is "Super Heroes Among Us."

At the event, attendees will learn how their involvement benefits the American Cancer Societyʼs goal to save lives and have the opportunity to speak with committee members and gather information about getting involved in the Relay for Life and registering their team.

Snacks and prizes will be available that evening.

Additionally, team packets and tools needed to develop a team will be available.

The Relay for Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, picnic, dance, play games and take turns circling around the track "relay" style to raise funds and fight cancer.

The event opens as cancer survivors lead the way around the track and are honored with the Survivor Lap.
