Dr. John Noble has been named the director of the Centre for Non-Western Studies at Huntington University.
Noble succeeds Dr. Tim Smith, who plans to take a sabbatical next semester to conduct research for his new book.
Noble joined the university in 2012 as an assistant professor of Bible and religion. He holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Taylor University. He also holds a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University.
The Centre for Non-Western Studies was established in 2009 to highlight and support inter-disciplinary research and teaching through a shared interest in non-western politics, culture and society.
