Students at Huntington area schools will learn about plant growth, investigate the effects of alternative energy on the environment and experiment in the areas of light, minerals, plants and climate thanks to CF Industries' Classroom Minigrant program.

CF Industries partnered with Lancaster Elementary School, Riverview Middle School, and Huntington North High School to offer the minigrants to teachers who incorporate agriculture or the environment into classroom activities.

In all, CF Industries awarded grants of nearly $4,500. Teachers earning minigrants for their projects are Lancaster Elementary School teacher, Jeanne Paff; Riverview Middle School teachers Deb Daugherty, Blake Childs, Christina Morris, Cari Whicker, Les Hoffman and William Bostain and Huntington North High School educator Amy Ehinger.

The company's commitment to education in our communities has meant that over $700,000 has been earned by teachers through the Classroom Minigrant Program since its inception. The Huntington terminal has donated more than $60,000 to public safety, education and youth development organizations.

"We are glad to have the opportunity to fund these projects," says Brad Gordon, superintendent of CF Industries' Huntington terminal. "The teachers come up with great projects that interest the students in the world around them."
