Monday, March 4, 2013 7:34 AM
The second installment of the 2013 public education series sponsored by Huntington County Master Gardeners will be held Thursday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Huntington City-Township Public Library.
The topic will be "Landscaping for Wildlife and Energy Efficiency."
It will be presented by Joe Scheidler, a retired landscaper who owned Spring Creek Nursery in Logansport.
Scheidler will speak about his three years of experience with solar power, explaining how he is able to use solar power to generate 100 percent of his electricity.
He will also demonstrate how to create a backyard habitat to benefit the environment.
Future public education series will include information on how to hybridize and the making of garden troughs.
The annual spring plant sale will be held May 18 at Hier‘s Park.
Those wishing to attend should make a reservation by contacting the extension office at 358-4826.
